Alex Kimble is a bass player who fills all roles on the instrument. Originally from Augusta, West Virginia, he now tours the country playing several genres of music. While holding a bachelor’s in Jazz Studies and a Master’s in Classical Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory, Alex primarily focuses on playing bluegrass music. Alex has played stages from Virginia to Utah, New York to Florida and everywhere in-between. Musicians Alex has shared a stage with include Danny Knicely, Frank Sullivan, Jack Dunlap, Robert Mabe, Mason Wright, Tim and Savannah Finch, Matthew Niess, and Craig Fraedrich.
Currently, Alex spends most of his time playing and performing music. His recent projects include recording on two bluegrass albums (Stumblin’ Out the Gate, Horses and Horsepower), a duo album (The Isolation Sessions), and a jazz album (The Gathering).
Alex is now looking into expanding a music studio and beginning to teach the next generation.
